Lanky, thin and frail looking, one wouldn’t think Azrec Derune a hero; his looks belie this fact.
Under his light frame lurks the mental focus, discipline and strength of will so rarely found, especially in one of his young age.
And yet, the only thing which eclipses these traits is his ambition, and to that end, his willingness to take any risk. He is brash, self confident and cunning as he seeks to make his place in the world.
It can be surmised that his very nature, and subsequently his interests are a product of his birth. His mother who was a very powerful sorcercess in her own right, coupled with his father, one of the Nine Hells’ preeminent devils. Summoning is his birthright. His mother, however, also intimately involved herself with an Angel of the heavens. She died in child birth but left fraternal twins, one taking after each father.
Azrec grew up very close to his brother, Aesther, often relying on him as his moral compass. But while Aesther hoped to affect good in the world through his devotion to his god, Azrec devoted himself to the study of the arcane and in essence himself. He sees his studies as his tool to advance himself. He often believes in doing the right thing, but doing it his way. This is often off the cuff, brazen in its methodology and quite frankly reckless…This is what attracted him to summoning. It became his main area of focus at the academy.
